| CARE AND FITTING TIPS.. Quality is critical in determining a band uniforms life. So are care and proper fitting. To keep your uniforms at their crispest, most colorful best, follow these tips: For quality care: For best results, have all uniforms professionally dry cleaned, preferably by the same qualified dry cleaner. Ask your dry cleaner to test clean one suit first. We recommend that the uniforms be cleaned in a solvent containing no more than two percent water. Each uniform should be dry cleaned at least two times per marching season, preferable three or four. Always dry clean uniforms before summer storage. Should your garments become wet, do not have them cleaned immediately. Instead, hang them on wooden or plastic hangers or drape them over wooden chairs, Make sure they are separated from each other in a well- ventilated area for at least 48 hours, until perfectly dry. If wet garments are left touching each other, a chemical reaction could occur, loosening the dye and causing color migration. Wet uniforms could also experience contraction and puckering. To avoid water damage, plan to wear rain gear when appropriate. We recommend that parkas or raincoats be a part of your initial uniform purchase. If your uniform trousers become muddy, do not dry clean them immediately. First, let the mud dry completely, then brush it off. If wet mud is rubbed into the pores of the fabric, it could leave a permanent stain. During marching season, it is best to store the uniforms at school in a fully-vented area with circulating air. If they are stored in students' homes, the same procedures apply. Expose uniforms to the air for at least 24 hours after wearing. Never store them immediately in zippered garment bags, storage cabinets, car trunks or other airtight areas. Make sure your new uniforms are fully insured upon arrival to protect you against rain damage, dampness, vandalism and theft. Fruhauf Uniforms supplies care booklets outlining these tips and other important details for preserving your uniforms. Give them to your dry cleaner and your students parents. Prevention is the best care of all. When in doubt, call your Fruhauf Uniforms representative for advice before a problem occurs. For quality fitting: Order your uniforms in stock sizes, if possible. Uniforms in balanced sizes will better fit new or growing band members. When you place you initial order, a Fruhauf representative will be available to assist you in fitting stock as well as out-of-proportion sizes. Plan to purchase at least 20 percent more uniforms than you have students. This method is more economical than placing individual orders at a later date. The overage will also be helpful in fitting new band members. Band memberships often increase dramatically after new uniformpurchases. Alterations at the beginning of the season should be performed by a professional. Our Company will be pleased to answer your questions about alterations. It's ourbusiness to keep you looking good in your Fruhauf uniform. |
